The Legend of Batu Kawa

Once there was a wedding feast in one of the houses in Batu Kawa. The bride and bridegroom sat together on a dais in the hall. Relatives and friends sat on the floor around them.
Outside the house, a few villagers were busy cooking rice in a large stone cauldron. They were preparing lunch for everyone to eat once the wedding ceremony was over.
Then a cat walked into the house. One of the children took the cat outside and pushed its tail into the fire! Meow! The poor animal gave a loud cry and teapt away. It ran around, shrieking in pain.
A few naughty children chased the cat and kicked it. The cat gave a loud yawl again. The children just laughed. They thought it was fun to see the cat jumping into the air.
None of the guests stopped the children from treathing the cat in such a bad way. Then an old man walked up to the children. He was very angry.
“Stop that at once!” he scolded. “You must be careful how you treat animals. If you harm a poor, helpless animal, great trouble will come uppon you.”
The children did not say anything. When the old man left, they caught the cat again and tossed it into the air. Meow! Meow! It was frightened, but the naughty children did not let it go.
Suddenly a strong wind began to blow. It blew against the doors and the windows. Bang! Clang! It blew so hard that it overturned the caulsron. All the people at the wedding feast could not move against the strong wind.
The whole place shook. Part by part, the house broke loose. There were a flash and lighting, then a loud clap of thunder. When the strong wind died down and the sun shone again, there were  only large stones where the couple and the guests had been!
That is why you can see a circle of stones of Batu Kawa. It is said that the two largest stones in the centre were once were the bride and the bridegroom, and the stones around them were the guests.

Memorable Moment

The most memorable moments in someone’s life can consist of many different things from past to present. Memories are sometimes caught on camera and shared as photos among people ar sometimes as video captured and seen as live action. Among of all the ways to catch memories, the most excellent one is to remember something or capture it with our own eyes. I have many memorable moment with my family, friends, and strangers and some of them still throw back in time simply because they were the best memories.
One of memorable moments I had was when my birthday. That night was May 24th. It was also my birthday, but nothing happened. My family didn’t say words. Neither my friends. At first I thought it was the wrong date. Maybe its May 23th or something, but no. I checked it many times and right. It was really my birthday. But….nothing happened. Or I had thought nothing would happened, but I was wrong.
That night, I was watching television with my brother. We watched Spongebob movie. A yellow square sponge with his star friend. That time, I felt jealous to Spongebob. He has Patrick who always next to him, and I have friends who didn’t even remember my birthday. So ironic, right?
Suddenly, I heard something lit fireworks in frony my yard. I peeped trough my window glass but could see nothing. It was very dark outside and no fireworks or anyone else on the neighbourhood. Then I plooped down to my sofa again and tried to concentrate on the television.
My mind raced with disappointment that no one gave me something special on my birthday. I shrugged, it was almost the end of the day and I became pessimist. About five minutes later, my mobile phone beeped. It was a text from my friend. She asked me to come out. Wondering what was going on, I grabbed my jacket and hurried to the front door. When I opened it, I was surprising by her. I see her bring a bag full of fireworks and firedrills. Next I was surprised to see my other friend came out from darkness. She brought a beautiful cake with the 13 candles on it. Oh my God! I Shrieked. Then they gave the cake to me who was too stunned to say anything. They sung the birthday song and asked me to blow the candles out. I was blushing furiously because my whole family was watching. Not to mention, my neighbours too!
A plan day, or I thought it was before, turned out to be one of the greatest moment in my life. I didn’t even know how describe what I felt. Happy was the simplest word.

Now, I’m no longer felt jealous to Spongebob, because I had more amazing friends than he does.
